Wow! What a laundry list of improvements! As I believe someone has said already, we now need to give some priority to what has been identified. I know that individual sets of priorities will differ, but if we all chip in our sense of what would be useful perhaps we can start setting some development priorities. There are obviously some required technical fixes that should get early attention, but my focus is on general usability.

I would like to see improvements in several areas:

  1. Functionality: specifically, use META tags for the subject and author fields, so that searches can be limited to those fields for greater accuracy. We use a combination of Hypermail and SWISH-Enhanced here
(surprise, surprise), and since SWISH-E understands META tags that would
    better integrate those packages.
  2. Display: Like I think Craig Summerhill mentioned, I want the ability to provide my own headers and footers.
  3. Configurability: I need the ability to do such things as leave off the "previous message" and "next message" links, as they foul up searching
(why should someone retrieve a message that merely points to the message
    they *really* want?).

Those are the highest things on *my* list. Thanks, Roy Tennant Received on Fri 24 Apr 1998 05:00:34 PM GMT
